Indian Institute of Creative Technologies

The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) is a newly established Section 8 company, backed by key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B), FICCI, and CII. Conceived as a Lighthouse Institute for India’s AVGC-XR ecosystem (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality), IICT is positioned to play a pivotal role in skilling and innovation in the sector.

Currently, IICT operates out of its Phase 1 campus located within the NFDC premises on Peddar Road, Mumbai. Over the next 2 years, it will expand to a state-of-the-art, 10-acre permanent campus in Filmcity, Goregaon.

The Phase 1 campus is equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure designed to upskill talent across the AVGC-XR spectrum. Facilities include dedicated Animation, VFX, and Gaming labs, Edit and Sound studios, a Virtual Production Studio, and a modern Theatre.

Our Vision

To provide high-quality education in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) across India, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the field.
To develop skill-building programs in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, which will include diploma and train-the-trainer courses.
To establish academic partnerships that leverage existing educational facilities/resources to launch AVGC courses.
To create an advisory cell to support universities in developing AVGC curricula, lab facilities, faculty, and academic collaborations.
To launch a Faculty Development Program in collaboration with international universities and industry partners.
To establish standards for short-term certificates and diplomas in AVGC in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
To build advanced AVGC infrastructure for research, industry production facilities, and start-up incubation hubs.
To promote industry-academia partnerships for training and placement opportunities.
To develop a technology roadmap for the AVGC sector.
To set up incubation centres to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in AVGC.
To encourage entrepreneurship in India's AVGC sector.
To strengthen intellectual property rights (IPR) in the AVGC sector through advocacy and capacity-building initiatives.
